Vertical Uphill Challenge in Monticello
The Morris Hill Meltdown is a point to point racing event located in Monticello, Kentucky. The course takes place on Morris Hill, a local landmark, and focuses entirely on an uphill trajectory. Participants navigate an elevation gain of over 650 feet within a short distance.
Participants can choose between two primary event formats:
- 1.1 Miles running race
- 1.2 Miles ruck event
The event begins with a gathering at the Monticello Farmers Market for packet pickup. Participants then take a guided walk of approximately five minutes to the start line on Morris Hill Road. Because the course is a point to point layout, those taking part must walk or jog back to the Farmers Market following the conclusion of their heat.
Awards are presented for overall winners in male and female categories for participants aged 18 and over, as well as sub-18 categories for boys and girls. Cash prizes are available for the first place male and female finishers. Additionally, a specific cash prize is offered to any participant who completes the course faster than the standing record of 8:21. The event is open to runners, walkers, and rucking participants.
