Morris Hill Meltdown

Morris Hill Meltdown is a hill climb event in Monticello, KY that uses the town landmark Morris Hill. The course is a 1.1 mile uphill route with close to 600 ft of elevation gain and includes twists and turns and scenic views.

Event offerings:

• Vertical Mile: 1.1 Miles
• Vertical Mile RUCK: 1.1 Miles with specified pack weights

Registration details are provided in advance and the standard entry fee is $15. The ruck division has weight requirements by body weight and participants will be weighed at registration: over 150 lb requires 20 lb dry weight, under 150 lb requires 10 lb dry weight.

Packet pickup takes place at the Monticello Farmers Market, and participants will be guided to the race start on Morris Hill Road. The course is point to point; after finishing, participants will travel about 1.5 miles back toward the farmers market for awards. Shuttle transport will be available for those who prefer not to return on foot.

Awards include overall top three male and female finishers, a last place award, two random drawings, and finisher stickers. First place man and woman will receive a cash prize of $150 each. A bonus cash prize of $300 is available for a winning time faster than the existing course record time of 8:21. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
