Morland Marathon
The Morland Marathon is a trail ultra in Cumbria held on Saturday 6 March 2027. The course covers 30 miles with about 3000 ft of ascent. The route is fully tracked and largely off road on mixed terrain, running through the Eden Valley and along the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The route passes stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, rivers, meadows and several historic villages, and it follows the Pennines to the east and the Howgills to the south. The event starts and finishes at Morland Village Hall CA10 3AS.
There are four food and water stations with water and snacks provided at each checkpoint, and a 12 hour cutoff for completing the course. Tail runners and first aid cover are provided on the day, and parking is available. Walkers are permitted provided they complete the course within the cutoff. Dogs may run but must be on a lead where livestock are present and on a short lead at the event start. Support runners are allowed but must be self sufficient. Spectators are restricted at checkpoints because of parking limits. Entrants must be over 20 years old.
A GPX route is available subject to minor changes. Entry fees listed are £61 standard, £59 affiliated, and £80 for relay entries; the entry includes a finishers medal. A finishers T shirt can be purchased for £10 and there is an option to plant a tree via Trees Not Tees. Transfers and one year deferrals are allowed under specified conditions and refunds are not offered. Race permit ARC/26/0008 applies.
