Morland 'Marathon' - Morland, Cumbria
The Morland 'Marathon' is a trail ultra event held on Saturday 6th March 2027. The course covers 30 miles with approximately 3000 ft of ascent and is largely off-road on mixed, undulating terrain. The route runs around the Eden Valley, close to the Pennines to the east and the Howgills to the south, and reaches the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The route passes stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, rivers, meadows, and historic villages. The course is fully tracked and includes four food and water checkpoints where water and snacks are provided. First aid will be available on the day.
Entries include a finishers medal; there is an option to purchase a finishers tee and an option to plant a tree through Trees Not Tees. There is a relay entry option. The event has a 12 hour time limit to complete the course and accepts runners and walkers aged over 20 on race day. Support runners are permitted but must be self-sufficient. Spectators are limited at checkpoints due to parking restrictions.
Practical details include event start and finish at Morland Village Hall CA10 3AS and parking is available. Bookings may be transferred up to three weeks before the event; refunds are not offered. Race permit ARC/26/0008 applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
