Morland 'Marathon'
The Morland 'Marathon' is a 30 mile trail ultra held in Morland near Penrith, Cumbria, on Saturday 6 March 2027. The route is fully tracked and largely off-road, with mixed terrain and approximately 3000 ft of ascent.
The course follows high ground east of the Eden Valley and skirts the Howgills to the south, running along the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The route passes stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, rivers, meadows, and historic villages.
Event logistics include four food and water stations, water and snacks at each checkpoint, and a 12 hour cut off for completion. The start and finish are at Morland Village Hall CA10 3AS. Parking is available and a What3words reference is provided ///rehearsed.slices.latched. A GPX route is available and may be subject to minor changes.
Entry fees are listed as £61 standard, £59 affiliated, or £80 for a relay entry. Entrance includes a finishers medal, and a finisher tee may be purchased for £10. There is an option to support tree planting with Trees Not Tees. First aid will be available on the day. Runners and walkers aged over 20 on race day are eligible.
