Event overview

The Helvellyn Triathlon takes place on 6 September 2026 in Glenridding, near Penrith, at Jenkins Field (CA11 0PB). The event offers three entry formats: individual triathlon, aquabike, and team relay.

Distances:

  • 1.5 km swim
  • 59 km bike
  • 15 km run

The swim is held in the open waters of Lake Ullswater.

Course

The bike course leaves Glenridding on the A592 along the shores of Ullswater, then turns left to climb past Matterdale End. Left turns at Troutbeck and Threlkeld bring the route onto a flat section beside Thirlmere. The course descends past Grasmere and passes through Ambleside, where it turns left up "The Struggle" to the Kirkstone Pass. The climb reaches the top of the Kirkstone Pass, followed by a technical and fast descent back to the transition area. The final segment is a fell run over rugged, off-road terrain in the Helvellyn area; Helvellyn is England's third highest mountain.

Entries and fees

Entry categories have tiered pricing depending on entry numbers. An administration fee is applied to each order by the online entry system partner. The organiser is TBF Events. Registration closes on 4 September 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
