Moreton Buy 10km
The Moreton Buy 10km is a running event held in the Moreton Bay Region, departing from and returning to Pelican Park at 101 Hornibrook Esplanade in Clontarf. The course covers a distance of 10 km along the coastal area. The event is open to participants aged 12 years and older, with age categories spanning from 12-17 years up to 90+ years.
Participants are organized into seven different start waves based on expected finish times, ranging from an elite wave for those finishing under 43 minutes to a final wave for those expecting to take over 90 minutes. To assist runners in meeting their performance goals, pace runners are available for times of 40, 45, and 50 minutes, as well as 1 hour and 1 hour 15 minutes.
Safety regulations are in place to manage the course within a 2-hour and 15-minute cut-off time from the start. Due to these safety requirements and road closure permits, pets, scooters, bicycles, and skates are not permitted on the course.
Registered participants receive a J2J running singlet and a race bib equipped with a disposable timing chip on the back. Upon completion of the distance, runners are awarded a finishers medallion and a finishers certificate. Professional timing services and prize money for top performers are also features of the event.
