Moreton Buy 10km
The event is a 10 km road race held on Sunday 19 July 2026 with the start line and finish line at Pelican Park, 101 Hornibrook Esplanade, Clontarf. The race uses wave seeding based on expected finish times and offers multiple wave groups for different target paces.
Waves are organised as follows: Wave 1 Elite for sub 43 minutes, Wave 2 for sub 45 minutes, Wave 3 for 45 to 60 minutes, Wave 4 for 60 to 70 minutes, Wave 5 for sub 75 minutes, Wave 6 for 75 to 90 minutes and Wave 7 for over 90 minutes. Wave start times depend on previous waves starting on time.
Minimum age for competitors is 12 years. Age categories are 12 to 17, 18 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 to 89 and 90 plus. A cut off of 2 hours 15 minutes applies from each runner's start time to support participant safety and the reopening of roads under the road closure permit.
Timing uses disposable race timing chips located on the back of race bibs. Pace runners are listed for a range of finish times including 40 minutes, 45 minutes, 50 minutes, 1 hour and 1 hour 15 minutes. Finishers receive a certificate and a medallion. Included merchandise features a J2J running singlet. For safety, pets, scooters, bikes and skates are excluded from the course. Prize money and course records are published separately.
