Moove Your Hooves 5k - Race and fundraiser
Moove Your Hooves 5k is the UC Davis Cross Country and Track and Field club's signature community distance race and fundraiser. The event is a scenic 5K that travels through notable sections of the UC Davis campus, using an out and back route from the Woody Wilson Track that curves beside the arboretum before returning to the track. Proceeds go to the club general fund to help reduce dues, uniform, and travel costs for members.
Community racers begin in Wave 1 and receive a two minute head start over Wave 2. Wave 2 is made up of club members wearing cow costumes; racers who beat the cow wave are eligible for prizes from local businesses such as Davis Creamery and Woodstock's. Prizes are also awarded by age category and are commonly provided by local sponsors including Fleet Feet Sports and Davis Creamery.
After the race, participants are offered fresh food and recovery items, including fruit, treats, snacks, and beverages.
