Event overview
The Moosehorn Ghost Run Half-Marathon and Relay takes place on October 25, 2026 at Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge in Baileyville, Maine. The event is organized by Bold Coast Runners in partnership with Friends of Moosehorn. Race day activities are held outside at the YCC building on refuge property. The event is capped at 100 runners across all events. Registration opens August 1, 2026 and registration closes October 24, 2026. Registered participants receive event swag and access to a post-race potluck. Awards, at the race director's discretion, include top 3 overall, 10-year age groups, relay awards, and Halloween-themed awards.

Course and logistics
The course runs entirely on Moosehorn service and access roads through meadows and flowages. Roads are car-free and include dirt and grassy refuge access roads. There are two staffed or self-serve aid stations; the second aid station is water only. The course includes a staffed road crossing near 3.8 miles, rolling terrain, a gradual climb to Snare Meadow, and a final 3-mile loop via Mile Bridge Road and Two Mile Meadow Road back to the refuge headquarters. The posted time limit for the course is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Relay legs and entry fees
Relay legs are 4.0 miles, 5.9 miles, and 3.1 miles. Standard entry fees listed are $35 for the half-marathon and $26 per person for the relay, with early-bird and youth pricing noted in event materials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
