Moosehorn Ghost Run Half Marathon and Relay
The event offers a 13.1 mile course through the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge access road system. The route stays on refuge service roads and includes dirt and gravel surfaces that are closed to traffic during the race. Wildlife sightings are possible along the course, including deer, moose, bear, grouse, and various bird species.

The course starts near the refuge headquarters and travels south through meadows and flowages. There are rolling sections, two staffed or self serve aid locations, and two relay exchange points. The first road crossing is at about 3.8 miles and Eaton Heath near mile 7.5 is noted as a potential wildlife viewing area. The final section includes a roughly three mile loop that returns runners past the headquarters to the finish.
Event activities and packet handling take place outside at the YCC building on Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge property. The event is organized by local running groups in partnership with Friends of Moosehorn and is capped at 100 runners across all events. Registered participants receive event swag and there is a communal potluck and awards after the race. The course time limit is three hours and thirty minutes.
