About the race
The Moose Mountain Trail Races, organized by Lewiston Ultra Events, take place in Bragg Creek, Alberta at the West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area. The event offers multiple solo mountain trail distances:
- 16K
- 29K
- 42K
- 50K
The course moves from rolling prairie into the foothills and uses sections of an original trail system within the Kananaskis Country park system. Runners follow over 150 km of community-built trails, including forested single-track and double-track sections, with the 8,000-foot Moose Mountain as a prominent landscape feature. The event starts and finishes at the West Bragg Creek day-use area.
Registration details and participant rules are stated by the organizer. All distances are listed at a fee of 160 $ CDN plus GST and the UltraSignup fee. Participants must be 18 years of age or older on race day. American Express and Discovery cards are not accepted. The organizer does not offer refunds and there is no waitlist.
Bibs may be transferred between distances except into the 50K; a 50K bib is required to participate in the 50K, and 50K bib holders may transfer down to a shorter distance. Distance transfers are permitted until August 9, 2027 for a 20 $ administration fee. The race has been held since 1992. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
