Millarville Half Marathon
The Millarville Run To The Market takes place in Millarville, Alberta, located approximately 35 minutes south of Calgary. The event features an out-and-back course starting from the Millarville Racing & Agricultural Society. Runners can participate in several distance options:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21 km
- Virtual race (any distance)
A notable feature of the event is the Cinnamon "Bunner" division. Participants in this category stop at designated aid stations to consume fresh cinnamon rolls during the race. These specialized stops are located at the 2.5 km and 7.5 km marks. Cash prizes are available for "Bunners" who finish ahead of the top runners in the standard divisions, provided they consume a full bun at each required station.
The course includes eight aid stations positioned at intervals of approximately 2.5 to 3 kilometers, including the finish line. The races are professionally chip-timed with real-time results. Each entry includes a commemorative long sleeve tech t-shirt, a finisher's medal, aid station support, and post-race refreshments.
The race weekend coincides with the opening day of the Millarville Farmers' Market, the oldest and largest outdoor market in southern Alberta. The event is part of a larger community weekend that features live music and a cycling Gran Fondo on the following day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
