Moonriver - Night Race
The event takes place on Friday 9 January 2026 in the Dovedale valley, based at The Old Dog, Thorpe (DE6 2AT). The course is a fell race of 9.5 km / 345 m and includes open fields, a rocky riverside trail, a woodland climb and undulating footpaths. The race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and is governed by FRA rules; the use of poles is not allowed.
Logistics and entry
Entries open 1 July 2025 and close 6 January 2026. Entry fees are listed as £12.00 for FRA members and £14.00 for non-members; the event minimum age is 18 and the maximum capacity is 250 runners. Registration is at The Old Dog (DE6 2AT). Parking is available at the pub, Narlows Lane and Thorpe station car parks (pay and display; free after 6pm) and at the Peveril of the Peak hotel (DE6 2AW). Full FRA kit is required, including a headtorch; participants are asked to carry a mobile phone for emergencies. Prizes are offered across multiple age and gender categories.
