Moonriver Night Race
Moonriver Night Race is a night time fell race held in the Dovedale valley near Thorpe. The route covers 9.5 km with approximately 345 m of ascent and runs across a mix of open fields, a rocky riverside trail, a woodland climb and undulating footpaths.
Registration is based at The Old Dog pub (DE6 2AT). Registration opens at 17:00 and closes at 18:30. Parking is available at the pub and nearby Narlows Lane and Thorpe station car parks (pay and display, free after 18:00), and at the Peveril of the Peak hotel (DE6 2AW).
The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and is governed by FRA rules. Full FRA kit is required, including a headtorch; competitors are advised to carry a spare headtorch and a mobile phone for emergencies. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed and running with dogs is not permitted. Competitors who do not carry the mandatory kit or who breach event rules may be disqualified.
The minimum entry age is 18 and maximum field capacity is 250 runners. Prizegiving includes individual and team prizes across standard age and team categories. Entry fees vary by FRA membership status. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
