MoonPie Move Knoxville
The MoonPie Move Knoxville is a running event taking place at Ijams Quarry in Knoxville, Tennessee. This event offers three distinct road racing distances for participants to choose from:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
The courses begin and end near the entrance of the quarry. The half marathon route consists of two loops of the 10k course plus an additional 1k. Interactive course maps provide elevation data and video previews for each distance.
Participants receive electronic timing and scoring services. Aid stations are positioned at each turnaround along the course, providing water, Gatorade, and GU. Bananas are available for runners at the finish line.
Finishers are rewarded with a themed premium blend shirt and a finisher medal. As part of the event theme, MoonPie treats are provided to all participants. Free parking is available for attendees within the park near the start and finish area.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top three finishers in several age groups, ranging from 20 and under to 70 and over, receive recognition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
