Event Overview
The Oak Ridge Fall Classic 5k is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026. It features an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K event called the Oak Ridge Fall Classic Sleep-In VIRTUAL 5k. Registration for both events ends on the morning of the race day. All proceeds from the event benefit the programming of Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services.
Course and Venue
The in-person course uses the Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks' Melton Hill Lake Greenway. The event starts and finishes at the Pavilion near the Melton Hill Lake Boat House, located at 697 Melton Lake Drive in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Event Purpose and Features
Held at the end of August, the event serves as a prelude to September's national Suicide Prevention Month and coincides with International Overdose Awareness Day. A remembrance banner will be available for participants and volunteers to write names or messages to honor those lost to suicide or overdose.
Practical Information
Packet pick-up is available on the Friday before the event from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Ridgeview's Main Center Lobby on 240 W. Tyrone Road, and on the morning of the event from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM at the registration tent under the Pavilion. A race t-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by August 19; limited quantities are available for later registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
