Moonlight Motion takes place in the evening on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at North Lakes Park, 2001 W. Windsor Rd., Denton, TX 76207. The event offers multiple participation options:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash (100–200 m)
- Virtual Option
Registration, fees, awards and other details
Fee information from the organizer: the on-site 5K is listed at $35, the 1 Mile at $18, the Virtual Option at $40, and the Kid's Dash is free. The 5K and 1 Mile fees increase after February 28, 2026. Registration for the Kid's Dash and the Virtual Option closes on July 18, 2026. Registrants who want an event t-shirt should register by July 4, 2026 to guarantee shirt size.
Participants in the 5K and 1 Mile receive a finisher medal cube; age-group awards are offered for the 5K and are awarded four deep in male and female divisions from 0-4 up to 80+. Overall and masters categories also receive overall medals. Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. The 1 Mile is an untimed option with no age-group awards. The Kid's Dash is a short sprint for young children; dashers may purchase a shirt or medal as add-ons. The Virtual Option includes shipping of the shirt and medal in the week of the race. Volunteers receive a code for a free race entry as a thank-you. Run Different donates a portion of proceeds to Encounter Church (Fate).
