Event Overview
The Big Easy in Little Elm is a Mardi Gras-themed event taking place in its 12th year. The main activities are two running events: a 5K and a 1K Fun Run. The event also features a large festival with Cajun-inspired elements.
Running Events
The event offers two distances:
- Big Easy 5K in Little Elm
- The Big Easy 1K Fun Run
Registration for these events is open to all ages.
Additional Activities
Beyond the runs, the event includes a crawfish boil with pre-sale and day-of pricing, live music by the band SPAZMATICS, themed games and contests such as King Cake Eating, food trucks, vendors, and art displays with shopping.
Participant Benefits & Awards
All participants receive a t-shirt. The first 1,000 registered participants also receive a finisher's medal. Awards are given for Overall Male & Female and Masters Male & Female winners. Age group awards are presented in 5-year increments starting from 10 & under up to 80+. There are also costume awards for best dressed female, male, and krewe (a group of 5 to 10 people).
Location & Logistics
The event is held at Little Elm Park. Packet pickup is available in advance at The Elm Hotel or on the day of the event at The Lakefront at Little Elm.
