Montgomery River Run
The Montgomery River Run is an annual road race held each year on the first Saturday of October along the Fox River in Montgomery, Illinois. The event features multiple distances and a USATF certified course that starts and finishes in front of Village Hall at 200 N. River Street.
The event program includes:
- 5K run/walk
- 10K run/walk
- Kids Dash (0.26 mi)
Races are chip timed and each bib contains a QR code for post race results. A sideline digital clock is located at the finish. Water stations and first aid are available along the course. Awards are presented to top male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K and to the top three finishers in each age group, with age categories starting at 9 and under and extending to 70 and over.
Registration includes a dry fit shirt and a goodie bag while supplies last; shirts for the kids race were included in 2026 pricing. Team registration is available for groups of four or more with a reduced fee per person. Proceeds support local nonprofit beneficiaries; since the event began more than $25,000 has been donated to area organizations.
