Monterosa Est Himalayan Trail
The Monterosa Est Himalayan Trail is a mountain trail running event held in Macugnaga (VB), Italy, set beneath the east face of Monte Rosa. The route develops in an alpine environment that crosses areas on the Italian and Swiss sides and passes through villages with Walser cultural heritage.
The event offers several race distances and fixed participant limits:
- 61 KM maximum 200 places
- 38 KM maximum 200 places
- 21 KM maximum 300 places
- 13 KM maximum 200 places A short Mini Trail of about 2 KM is scheduled on the day after the main races.
A MEHT Village operates around the race, providing event services and information. Technical briefings are held in English and in Italian. Prize ceremonies are planned for the 38K, 21K and 13K races and separately for the 61K race. Organisers publish maps for start and finish areas, parking plans and voucher information for lifts.
Live tracking is available for the 61 KM race. The event is organised by Sport PRO-MOTION A.S.D. and involves local municipal partners and a range of sponsors and service partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
