About the race
The Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon takes place in early July 2027 and is held in the Zermatt region. The event offers several mountain running distances that start in the valley and finish at higher elevation on the Gornergrat.
Available distances include:
- Ultra-Marathon 45.8 km
- Marathon 42.195 km
- Half marathon 21.1 km
- TOP20RUN 22.0 km
- Hörnli-Kidsrun
The entry fee includes the Swiss Runners Ticket, which allows free travel by public transport within Switzerland up to seven days before and after the race. A companion ticket is available for CHF 85 and is valid on Saturday from St. Niklaus to the Gornergrat.
Race services include aid stations with products from the event nutrition partner Powerbar such as gels and isotonic drinks. Race information is provided in an Event Guide and a Race Magazine. Practical topics covered include registration, categories, start lists, bib collection, course aid and cutoff times, travel and accommodation, rules, and safety arrangements.
Start number transfers are permitted for a fee of CHF 20; participants must arrange this with the organiser. Results, photos and rankings are published after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
