Event overview
The Montebello Heritage 5K/10K is an annual run held as part of the three-day Montebello Heritage Festival. The event is organized by Aztlan Athletics in partnership with the City of Montebello and is based at Montebello City Park, along historic Whittier Blvd. Distances offered include:
- 5K (one loop)
- 10K (two loops)
- Kids 1K
- Run4Paws (pet division)
All participants receive a shirt and a finisher medal. The first 700 registered runners are guaranteed to receive their shirt and medal on race day; later registrants will be able to pick them up within two weeks. The Run4Paws division includes a die-cast dog bone finisher medallion, a custom bib, and access to a pet refresh and wellness zone.
Course and logistics
The course starts near the Veterans Memorial on Whittier Blvd and passes along Montebello Blvd and Olympic. The route includes gradual inclines and declines on Montebello Blvd. Water and electrolyte stations are provided at the start/finish area and at additional points on the course. Parking is available around Montebello Intermediate School at 1600 W. Whittier Blvd, with additional parking accessible via Vail Avenue.
