Monster Mash 5K - Bold Rock Cidery
The Monster Mash 5K is a Halloween themed event held at Bold Rock Cidery in Nellysford, Virginia on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The 5K is an out and back course described as easy and flat, mostly pavement with some gravel. Walkers, strollers and dogs are welcome. Teams are encouraged; prizes are awarded for the biggest team and the best team costume.
Registration fees vary by date: $35 through October 2, $45 from October 3 through October 24, and $50 on October 25. Participants registered on or before October 12 are guaranteed an event shirt; a limited number of extra shirts will be distributed at packet pickup by registration date. Registrants receive event specific information by email before race day.
Included items and services for participants are a short sleeve performance event shirt, professional chip timing, a commemorative finisher glass, a pint of Bold Rock Hard Cider for participants over 21, and a post race party with an awards ceremony. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to first place finishers in multiple age group categories. Race winners over 21 receive a six pack of Bold Rock Hard Cider; under 21 winners receive a bottle of sparkling apple juice. ID is required to receive alcoholic beverages.
There are no refunds. Runner transfers are allowed with advance request. In the event of severe weather that makes the course unsafe, the event may be postponed to the following day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
