Monster Mash 5K : Bold Rock Cidery, Nellysford, VA (October 31, 2026)
The Monster Mash 5K is a Halloween-themed road event at Bold Rock Cidery in Nellysford, Virginia. The course is an out-and-back that the organizer describes as easy and flat, mostly on pavement with some gravel, and with views in every direction. The event welcomes runners, walkers, dogs, and all-terrain strollers.
Teams are encouraged; prizes are awarded for the biggest team and the best team costume. Registered participants receive a short sleeve performance event tee (unisex and ladies cut), professional chip timing, a commemorative finisher glass, a pint of Bold Rock Hard Cider, and access to a post-race party and awards ceremony. Participants registered on or before October 18 are guaranteed an event shirt; a limited number of extra shirts may be available after packet pickup while supplies last.
Registration fees vary by date: $40 through October 8, $45 October 9 through October 30, and $50 on October 31. A referral program offers a $10 refund when four friends sign up using the registrant’s referral link. There are no refunds; runner transfers are allowed with advance notice to the organizer.
Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to first-place finishers in listed age groups. Participants over 21 receive a six-pack prize; under 21 winners receive a bottle of sparkling apple juice. Post-race beverage distribution requires the beverage ticket on the race bib and proper ID for alcoholic servings.
