Monmouth Battlefield 5K
The Monmouth Battlefield 5K takes place at the Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan, New Jersey. This event is part of the RevolutionNJ Race Series, a collection of six races held at various historic sites across the state. The series is organized to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
Participants can choose between two main events:
- Monmouth Battlefield 5K
- 1 Mile Walk
The RevolutionNJ Race Series is inspired by the historic run of Jonas Cattell, who warned American troops of a British attack during the Revolutionary War. By hosting events at significant locations, the series aims to highlight New Jersey's revolutionary history and the diverse stories of those who lived during that era. In addition to the Manalapan event, the series includes races at Cedar Bridge Tavern, Red Bank Battlefield, Fort Lee Historic Park, Princeton Battlefield, and Batsto Village.
The event is managed by TNT Event Management and serves as a community celebration that combines fitness with historical education. Registration is open to runners, walkers, and families, providing an interactive way to interact with the region's heritage. On-site registration is available on the morning of the event.
