Event overview
Monkstown Spartan's SPAR Belfast Zoo 5k takes place on Sunday 12 April 2026 at Belfast Zoo. The event is organised by Monkstown Spartans and is held within the zoological gardens. Entries recorded so far list 236 participants.
Course and races
The main race is a two-lap 5 km course through the Zoo grounds. The route climbs to the top of the Zoological Gardens with views of Cave Hill and Belfast Lough, includes fast descents, and finishes at the flamingo lake playpark. Age eligibility for the 5 km is 12 years and older.
A separate Kilimanjaro KM is a 1 km race around the Savannah habitats for children aged 4 to 12.
Entries and fees
Entries open on 1 December 2025 and close on 5 April 2026. Registration is managed through SiEntries. Published entry fees are:
- Affiliated 16+: £20
- Non-affiliated 16+: £22
- Affiliated 12-15: £15
- Non-affiliated 12-15: £17
- Kilimanjaro KM: £9.50 (includes £5.50 race entry and a £4 children’s admission)
