Monkstown Spartans Belfast Zoo 5k

This event takes place on Sunday, 12th April 2026, at Belfast Zoo. The main race is a 5 km run starting at 9:00 AM. The course is a two-lap route through the zoo grounds. It climbs to the top of the Zoological Gardens, offering views of Cave Hill and Belfast Lough, before descending. The finish line is at the flamingo lake playpark.

A separate event called the Kilimanjaro KM is also held. This is a 1 km race on a route around the Savannah habitats, for children aged 4 to 12 years. The entry fee for this race includes a reduced-price children's admission to the zoo.
