The Mohawk Mountain Race takes place at Mohawk Mountain Ski Resort, 46 Great Hollow Road, Cornwall, CT. The event includes the following distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Course and race format
The course uses ski-mountain trails with multiple ascents and descents and offers views of fall foliage. The 5K is a single loop that starts on the left side of the mountain, follows the Wildwood Trail toward the summit, descends Timber Trail, crosses to the right side using Pine, Laurel and Deer Run Trails, passes Victor’s Way, climbs Route 100 and Ledges back to the summit, then finishes down the Mohawk Trail. The 10K consists of two 5K loops. The Half Marathon includes one 5K loop plus additional miles in Mohawk State Forest. The Marathon is two loops of the Half Marathon course.
Additional information
Registration opens January 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET. There are no refunds and no transfers of registration or bibs. Hikers and walkers are welcome in the 5K and 10K. Finishers receive medals from Ragged Cuts and there are overall awards for the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Post-race provisions include pre-packaged food and canned beverages; alcoholic beverages are not provided, but participants may bring their own.
