The event takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA 98407. It includes multiple distance options and honors the actions and fallen warriors of Task Force Ranger.
The program references the Mogadishu Mile, a roughly one mile route that Rangers and Delta Force Operators ran to a rally point held by US soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division. Available distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 5K Ruck / Body Armor
- 9K Run (5.6 miles)
Event formats include running, walking, rucking with a weighted backpack, and wearing body armor or a plate carrier. A limited supply of demo rucksacks will be available from Grit City Ruckers; participants are advised that supplies are limited and may bring their own pack and weight implement. Recommended attire includes athletic shoes and moisture wicking clothing, and participants are advised to bring water for hydration.
Race packet contents include a bib and assorted partner items, with a special patch for ruck participants. Pre and post event refreshments will be provided.
