MLK 5K Run/Walk - San Antonio
The MLK 5K Run/Walk is a fundraising running event held at MLK Park, 3503 Martin Luther King Dr., San Antonio, TX 78220. The event is presented by the Young Men’s Leadership Academy and is noted as the 12th anniversary edition.
The Young Men’s Leadership Academy is the first all-boys public school in San Antonio. The academy’s mission is to develop young men into effective scholars, thinkers, and leaders through a comprehensive educational and social experience that supports a distinguished high school graduation plan. One hundred percent of proceeds from the event fund student programming.
Participant services include a timed race bib and awards; medals are given to the fastest time in each age group. Packet pickup is organized at Young Men’s Leadership Academy, 415 Gabriel St., at the back of the school near the tennis courts and back parking lot, opposite the apartments, and is available on the days before the race and on race day.
Registration uses tiered fees. An initial registration fee of $12 is listed, with higher fees for later and day-of registration; registration terms note no refunds. Donations are accepted to support the academy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
