Mitchell 5K
The Mitchell 5K is a community running event held at Heritage Christian Academy in Kalamazoo, MI. The course uses the school's cross-country layout and consists of two laps. The course includes trails and varied terrain with several hills, off-camber sections and areas of uneven ground.
Registration opens May 28 and closes September 9. The event fee for the 5K Run/Walk is $30. T-shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by August 30; registrations after that date receive shirts on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Packet pickup is available the day before and the morning of the race at Heritage Christian Academy: Friday pickup is scheduled September 11 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and Saturday pickup is scheduled September 12 from 8:00 to 9:30 am. Parking is available at the school.
Awards are presented for overall male and female finishers and for age-division winners in the following brackets: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-99. Proceeds from the event are split evenly between Heritage Christian Academy School, the school's cross-country program, missionary support and a charitable donation in the honoree's name.
