Event Overview
The Miocene Epic Endurance Challenge is a trail race held at Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby, Maryland. The 8th annual event consists of a ~5 mile loop course. Runners have up to 6 hours to complete as many loops as they choose.
What's Included
All participants receive a premium item and a swag bag. An aid station, restocked after each loop, provides drinks, snacks, and fresh breakfast foods like pancakes, bacon, and fruit. A hot meal is served after the run. Runners completing 50k or more receive a trilobite medal.
The course starts and finishes at the park's picnic pavilion. Runners can set up personal tents or chairs near the course. Parking is available inside the state park; an entry fee applies ($5 for Maryland residents, $7 for non-residents).
Virtual Option
A virtual running option is available. Virtual participants receive the same swag and finisher items as in-person runners, shipped at no extra cost.
Cancellation Policy
If the in-person event is cancelled, all runners are automatically moved to the virtual event. Refunds are not provided in this case. For ordinary cancellations 30 days or more before the event, the entry fee is refunded minus a $30 processing fee. Cancellations less than 30 days before the event are not refunded. Entries cannot be deferred to a future event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
