Multisport Racing at Seaside Park
The Mini of Fairfield County Seaside Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon returns for its eighteenth edition in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This multisport event is held at Seaside Park, providing a flat course environment for both swimmers and non-swimmers. The race is organized with sections that are closed to vehicle traffic.
Participants can choose between different race formats:
- Sprint Triathlon: A one-loop swim in the Sound starting from the sandy shore, followed by a 10-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run.
- Duathlon: A combined running and cycling event designed for those who do not wish to participate in the swim portion.
- Relay Teams: Options are available for teams to complete the triathlon together, with specific registration roles for captains and members.
The cycling portion of the triathlon consists of two loops, each measuring 5 miles. The final leg is a 3.1-mile run completed in a single flat loop. The event infrastructure includes a transition area at 1 Barnum Dyke and an awards ceremony following the conclusion of the races.
