Course Information

The Mingus Traverse is a 79.4-mile point-to-point race from Prescott to Sedona in Arizona. It traverses a condensed version of the Cocodona 250 course.

The route showcases diverse Arizona landscapes, passing through Prescott Valley, Mingus Mountain, the historic town of Jerome, and Clarkdale. It features scenic trails, including sections of the Prescott Circle Trail and through Dead Horse State Park, before reaching Sedona's red rock canyons. The course is a mix of single-track (56%), double-track (34%), and pavement (10%).

The event has a total estimated elevation gain of 10,116 feet and an elevation loss of 11,141 feet, with a maximum elevation of 7,819 feet.

Race Logistics

The race starts at Watson Lake Park in Prescott and finishes at the Sedona Ranger Station. The time limit is 44.75 hours.

Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, soda, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Most stations also offer a substantial hot meal, with vegan options available. Pacers are not allowed for this distance.

Registration and Policies

Registration is handled through UltraSignup. The race has a cupless policy, meaning runners must carry their own containers for drinks at aid stations; hot cups are provided for soups and coffee. A GPS-enabled device with the course file downloaded is mandatory for all participants.

The race supports a Transgender & Non-Binary inclusion policy, offering awards for top Non-Binary athletes alongside Men's and Women's categories. Entry fees are non-refundable, but race credits are available up to 60 days before the event, with a 100% credit policy for pregnancy deferrals.
