Event Overview
The Flagstaff Doggie Dash & Buffaloops Ultra is an annual running event held at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. The 2026 event is the 8th annual edition. It features multiple race formats: a 5k run/walk where participants can run with their dogs, and fixed-time ultra races of 3, 6, and 12 hours where runners complete as many 2-mile loops as possible.
A portion of registration fees is donated to the High Country Humane Society. The event also includes a free kids' race, raffle prizes, dog yoga, and activities for families.
Race Details
- 5k Run/Walk: Participants run one counter-clockwise loop of Buffalo Park plus a shorter one-mile loop.
- 3, 6, and 12 Hour Ultra: Runners start on a two-mile outer loop, running counter-clockwise, and switch directions every two hours.
Packet pickup is available on Saturday evening (time and place to be announced) and on-site on race morning. Day-of registration and packet pickup opens at 6:15 AM.

A virtual 5k option is available. Participants can run the distance on their own time and date, and 100% of virtual registration fees are donated to the High Country Humane Society. Virtual participants receive a race bib and stickers by mail.
On-Site Support
An aid station near the park entrance will provide water, electrolyte mix, and snacks. Participants are advised to bring their own hydration and fuel. Sunscreen, antacids, body glide, and first aid will be available. A designated drop bag area is provided, and space for personal tents/canopies is available free upon request.
