Each lap measures about 1.12 miles with roughly 140 feet of elevation gain. The course surface is approximately 70% unpaved and 30% paved; the unpaved portion combines double-track trail and gravel road with very light vehicle use from park visitors. Road shoes are suitable for the course even if the weather is poor.
The event is free. The organizer will provide a large shared water jug and will use one of the park gazebos as a base camp; picnic benches and tables will be available there. The 2-hour option is arranged to coincide with the longer event so participants can finish together, and alternative 2-hour slots may be offered.
