Mac's Run : Sunset Bay State Park
Mac's Run takes place on December 12, 2026, at Sunset Bay State Park near Charleston, Oregon. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Both courses are entirely on paved roads and loop through Shore Acres on the outbound section, then return straight north. The route is hilly and provides ocean views along portions of the course.
Packet pickup is located at the yurt near the southern-most parking lot at Sunset Bay. Oregon State Parks requires a parking pass for all vehicles at Sunset Bay. Daily passes are $10 in-state and $12 out-of-state and can be purchased at a kiosk near registration with a QR code. Annual state park passes are $30 for one year and $50 for two years; the annual pass price will change to $60 on January 1 and two-year passes will no longer be issued after that date.
Entry fees differ by membership status. Members pay $15 for the 5K and 10K with a discounted price shown at checkout and $20 for day of race registration. Non-members pay $25 for the 5K and 10K and $30 day of race. Students register with code Student2026 and are charged $5; online registration will not charge students and students pay $5 at registration.
