Mindful Strides for Dementia
The Geneseo Police Department together with the Dementia Task Force is organizing a fundraising event at Richmond Hill in Geneseo on September 5, 2026. The event aims to raise money for the Dementia Task Force to support community outreach, caregiver support, and the provision of free radio-frequency Care Trak tracking bracelets. These bracelets allow caregivers and law enforcement to locate a person with dementia who has wandered away undetected.
The event offers separate courses for runners and walkers. The race program is being kept simple to direct more funds to the cause; there will be no age brackets and no age-based awards, and the event will not use chip timing. An award will be given to the overall top three finishers among 5K runners.
