HogDay Stampede - 50th Annual
The HogDay Stampede marks its 50th annual running in Kewanee on September 5, 2026. The event is based at the Kewanee YMCA, 315 West First Street, Kewanee, Illinois.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 4-Mile Run
- 1-Mile Run / Fitness Walk
- 1/4 Mile Kids Fun Run (ages 7 and under)
The 4-mile course is primarily a flat figure eight with two small hills and both the start and finish are located by the Kewanee YMCA. Water stations and split times are provided on course. Finish-line services include a digital clock, chip timing, and post-race refreshments such as fruit, cookies, All Sport, and Pepsi.
Pre-registration for the 4-mile and 1-mile events includes a Russell T-shirt and eligibility for door prizes and gift certificates; shirt availability is not guaranteed for registrations after August 25. The kids fun run has no entry fee; a guardian must complete and sign the entry form. A free T-shirt is provided by the Kewanee Banking Center to the first 300 kids who register; correct sizes are not guaranteed after August 18.
Packet pick-up is available at Breedlove's Printing Store on the Friday before the race and on race day at the Kewanee YMCA. Awards include overall prizes and age-group awards, with additional local-finisher recognitions and course-record bonuses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
