About the race
Run With Carl is an annual Labor Day running event held at Bettendorf Middle School, 2030 Middle Road, Bettendorf, IA. The event began in 1995 and has supported a memorial scholarship and other local educational funds. Races offered include: - 5K Run/Walk - 5 Mile Run - 1/2 Mile Fun Run for children 12 and under The 5K and 5 Mile entries include a long sleeve race shirt (adult sizes XS to 2XL). The children fun run registration includes a cotton short sleeve shirt (youth sizes YS to YL).
Shirt quantities are limited and there is an option to purchase a shirt only. Courses run on city streets and the Bettendorf recreation path and include hilly sections. Course protection, timing splits, and water stops are provided. Packet pick-up and late registration take place at the middle school cafeteria on the Friday and Saturday before the race; race day registration is available. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race, plus first place male and female masters age 60 and over.
All kids fun run participants receive a medal. Professional timing and scoring are provided by a commercial race timing company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
