Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR)

The Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) is an annual adventure race held near Cumberland, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The 2026 edition will be the 46th race in its 26-year history.

Participants can choose from three distinct courses. The Quest format is a 20 km course focused on paddling and trekking, with no mountain biking. The classic Sport and Enduro courses cover 30 km and 50 km respectively, and combine paddling, trekking, and mountain biking.

All courses require basic map reading and navigation skills to find checkpoints. Registration is for teams of two (mixed, men, or women), except for the Enduro course which also offers solo (men or women) and teams of four options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
