Mimosas for Marrow 5K
The Mimosas for Marrow 5K is a 5K run/walk event taking place on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The start and finish location is Catherine Rooney's at 1616 Delaware Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware. The event was created by local mothers and supports families affected by blood cancers and disorders by raising funds for NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program) and adding potential bone marrow donors to the registry.
The event is organized by Oakley Overcomes, Inc., inspired by a child named Oakley who received a lifesaving bone marrow transplant in 2022. In its first three years, the event has grown to feature over 2,000 participants and has raised more than $76,000.
Participants can register for the event. The registration fee is $35, with a price increase scheduled for April 17, 2026. Bib pick-up is available on race day from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM at Catherine Rooney's. The race starts at 9:00 AM.
After the race, a post-race party is held at Catherine Rooney's. Registered runners receive race swag, a T-shirt (limited to the first 600 registrants), food, and drinks. A free mimosa is available for participants aged 21 and over.
The event includes various highlights such as live entertainment, face painting, a photobooth, raffles, and a bounce house.
