Miller Park Zoo Stampede : March 7, 2026, Bloomington, IL

The Miller Park Zoo Stampede is a community running event held in historic Miller Park, the surrounding neighborhood and Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, IL. The course is USATF certified. The event program includes a children's Fun Run, a 3K walk (not timed) and a 5K run. The children's Fun Run is a quarter-mile event open to ages 10 and under.

Registration prices listed on the event page are $35 for the 5K and 3K walk, and $15 for the Kids Fun Run; prices increase after February 8, 2026. The event includes on-site refreshments and an award ceremony on the pavilion main floor. The 5K awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for overall and age group finishers. After the Fun Run, an after party on the pavilion second story will include an animal encounter, participation awards, snacks and beverages.

Proceeds from the event support the Zoological Society’s projects; this year funds are designated for a new habitat for the zoo’s Southern Ground Hornbills. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
