BASC Santa Claus Shuffle
The BASC Santa Claus Shuffle is a festive running event held in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire. The event features a holiday theme where participants can walk, jog, or run through the city streets. The first 1,400 adult and youth registrants receive a Santa suit for the race.
The event offers two primary distances:
- 3 Miles
- 100 Yards (Kids Fun Run)
The 3 mile course is an out-and-back route that begins and ends at Veteran’s Park. It proceeds down Elm Street and is unique for its "aid stations" which provide samples of chocolate, cookies, candy, and maple rather than standard race nutrition. The 100 yard Lil’ Elf Run is designed for children and is organized into three age divisions: 4 and younger, 5-6, and 7-8. All children participating in the Lil’ Elf Run receive a medal at the finish line.
Participants aged 21 and over receive a beer ticket redeemable at participating local establishments. Post-race refreshments including water, bananas, and snacks are provided in the finish area. The event is a qualifying race for several series, including the Elliot Millennium Running Series and the Anthem Holiday Hat Trick. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various five-year age groups. Free digital race photos and finisher videos are provided to all participants. A virtual participation option is also available for those unable to attend in person.
