Millstone Trail Races
The Millstone Trail Races name replaces the Mill Stone 50K for 2027. The event at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC will include a returning 50K run that uses two 15.5 mile loops, and a new 25K option replacing the previous 10 mile race. A 10K and a kids run are also planned. Registration opens June 1, 2026.
Distances include:
- 50K two 15.5 mile loops at Anne Springs Close Greenway
- 25K new option replacing the previous 10 mile race
- 10K and kids run planned
The course is in a private green space and is not a paved urban greenway. Nearly all of the route is single track and technical, with some gravel road and dirt trail. There will be few creek crossings depending on weather, and sections are likely to be muddy. Bridges that were previously damaged have been replaced and the most recent course can be used.
Aid stations are planned at roughly the 4 and 8 mile marks, with an additional aid point near the start area; runners will be asked to carry at least one water bottle. Course maps will be available on Caltopo and will mark aid, restrooms, and water.
All entrants in the 50K and 25K will receive race swag. Mid January 2027 is the last day to guarantee swag sizes; registration remains open into early February but sizes may not be available. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals for any reason. Awards will be given overall to male and female finishers in the 50K and 25K, and 50K finishers will receive a custom medal made by a local artist.
A preview run of the Millstone Loop is scheduled for July 1, 2026 beginning at the Gateway Canteen. The daily use fee will be waived for preview attendees as it is on race day.
The event is planned to be held rain or shine. Severe weather, facility closure, or unsafe conditions may lead to contingency plans or a makeup date, likely the next weekend. Notifications will be sent by email and posted on the Greenway Run Club Facebook group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
