Miles for the Future 5K
The Miles for the Future 5K takes place in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx. The event is organized by the Nu Chi Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. to support nursing scholarships and community health initiatives. The proceeds from registration fees contribute to undergraduate and graduate nursing scholarship programs and various community service projects.
The course consists of a scenic loop within the park boundaries. Starting near the Tortoise and Hare statue, the route travels north along paved paths, passing green spaces and wooded areas. The path loops near the Van Cortlandt Golf Course and Vault Hill before turning south to return toward the start area. The terrain includes gentle elevation changes throughout the route.
Participants can choose between the following distance:
- 5 km
Amenities provided include a finish medal for all participants and a commemorative shirt. Registered individuals receive live timing results via text or email, as well as free finish line photos and video. Those who register at least three weeks before the event will have their name printed on their bib. The event also provides refreshments and features awards for the top three overall finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories.
