Miles for the Future 5K : event overview
Miles for the Future is a community 5K held in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. Registration is not yet open and will open ahead of the event. Race day registration and check in are located near the tortoise and hare statue across from Lloyd’s Carrot Cake at 6087 Broadway.
The course starts just north of the finish line on the cricket field and uses park trails. Runners follow the John Muir Trail counter-clockwise, turn right onto the John Kieran Nature Trail, take a left before the Park Lake outflow, continue onto Old Putnam Trail, complete a U-turn past Mosholu Parkway, and reconnect with the John Kieran Nature Trail to return to the cricket field.
Amenities include medals for all finishers, a shirt for registrants, refreshments, live online results plus text and email result delivery, free finish line photos, and a personalized bib for those registered three weeks in advance. Bib pickup is handled by event staff beginning one hour before the event near the tortoise and hare statue; a bib number is required for pickup and can be obtained via Self Lookup or Bib Lookup. Last-minute registrants who register within 24 hours receive their bib number by text within about 90 seconds.
