Miles for the Future 5K (Van Cortlandt Park)
Miles for the Future 5K takes place on July 18, 2026, and is hosted by the Nu Chi Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. The event raises funds for undergraduate and graduate nursing scholarship programs and supports the chapter’s community outreach and health promotion activities. Race day registration and check in are located near the Tortoise and Hare statue across from Lloyd’s Carrot Cake at 6087 Broadway in the Bronx.
The course runs entirely inside Van Cortlandt Park along paved park paths. Participants follow a scenic loop that passes open green spaces, wooded sections, the Van Cortlandt Golf Course area, and Vault Hill before returning toward the start area. The route is clearly marked and includes gentle elevation changes; course marshals and volunteers are stationed at key points.
Event amenities include medals for all finishers, a registrant shirt, refreshments, live text and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for those who register at least three weeks before the event. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers in male, female, and X categories. Bib pickup is handled by event staff and last-minute registrants receive bib numbers by text.
