Miles for Smiles is a 5k community running event held on September 26, 2026. The route runs through Lake Park and begins and ends at the Summer Stage. The event benefits patients at Children's Wisconsin Hospital and Marquette University School of Dentistry by sponsoring cleft lip and palate care and supporting related outreach and volunteer programs.
The event distance is 3.1 Miles. Registration opens in May and closes in late September, with tiered fees: $25 for early registration, $30 for later registration, and $35 after August 23. Participants who register before August 25 will receive a complimentary race day T-shirt. Registration remains open until race week.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Helfaer Recreation Center on Marquette University's campus and on race day at the Start Line. A QR from the registration confirmation is required at pickup. Race packets include a race bib, a race day T-shirt, and additional items from event sponsors.
Parking is available near the Start Line at Summer Stage and near Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro, a short walk from the Start. The event includes guidance for runners and walkers on start line positioning to allow faster runners to begin ahead of average and slower-paced participants.
