Miles for Smiles 5k
Miles for Smiles is a community 5k event taking place on September 26, 2026, in Lake Park, Milwaukee. The run begins and ends at the Summer Stage and follows a route through Lake Park. The course distance is 3.1 miles. This is presented as the first annual 5k Dental Dash organized by the Miles for Smiles club at Marquette University School of Dentistry.
Registration has tiered fees: $25 for registrations before July 23 and $30 for registrations before September 23. Registration remains open until race week, and participants who register before September 7 will receive a complimentary race day T-shirt.
Proceeds benefit patients at Children's Wisconsin Hospital and Marquette University School of Dentistry by sponsoring cleft lip and palate care. The Miles for Smiles mission includes fundraising, volunteering, and community outreach to support surgeries and care, increase awareness, connect students with service opportunities, and promote access to comprehensive cleft care.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race, September 25, at Helfaer Recreation Center on Marquette University's campus (4–7 pm, 525 N 16th St, Milwaukee) and on race day at the Start Line. Race packets include a bib, race day T-shirt, and sponsor items. Parking is available near the Start Line at Summer Stage and at Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro, with additional free street parking within a 5–10 minute walk.
