Event Details
The Miles for Moms 5K takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Athens, Georgia. It is a fundraising event for the East Georgia Cancer Coalition (EGCC), which supports cancer patients and prevention programs across a 53-county region in East Georgia.
The main event is a 5K Run/Walk, starting and finishing at the loading dock area behind the East Georgia Cancer Coalition office at 315 Riverbend Road. The course consists of four loops around the property. Cones and arrows will mark the route. A link is provided to an interactive course map on MapMyRun.
Participants can also join virtually with two options: a Virtual 5K - With Shirt and a Virtual 5K - No Shirt. Registration for the virtual events opens on April 16, 2026.
Registration and Logistics
Registration for the in-person run/walk costs $20, with the price increasing after May 1, 2026. Teams of ten can receive a discounted rate of $13 per person. There is an option to purchase a race T-shirt separately to support the event.
Packet pickup is available in two ways. Early packet pickup is on Friday, May 2, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the main lobby of the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center at the EGCC address. This is only for those registered by April 18. All other participants can pick up their packets on race day, Saturday, May 3, starting at 7:00 AM at the back of the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, near the start/finish line arch.
