This is the seventh annual running of the Miles for Midwest 5K and it offers both an in person 5K and a virtual 5K option; both cover 3.1 Miles.
Registration fees vary by date: $35 for registrations between October 15 and December 30, 2026; $40 from January 1 to March 31, 2027; and $45 from April 1 to May 8, 2027. A $5 discount is applied for registrants under 18. In person registration will also be available on the day of the event at higher rates for adults and for children under 18. The virtual 5K runs from April 25 until May 8, 2027 and allows participants to complete the distance on a course of their choosing or on a treadmill. Virtual participants may submit times via RunSignup for the event leaderboard under an honor system. Local participants may pick up race gear at a warehouse on May 7; nonlocal participants will receive mailed gear.
All proceeds support Midwest Food Bank Georgia. The event notes that every one dollar donated allows the organization to share thirty five dollars worth of food. No strollers, wheelchairs, bikes, or dogs are allowed on the run due to liability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
