Miles for Mammos 5K
Miles for Mammos is a community 5K held at the Jacksonville Commons on October 17, 2026. The event benefits Julie's Pink Warrior Project, which provides free screening mammograms to uninsured and underinsured individuals in Onslow County. Proceeds from the race fund those free mammograms.
The course is described as flat and fast, and it is stroller friendly. A water station is located around the halfway point. Finishers receive a medal and post race snacks are available. Spectators and other participants provide support near the final stretch. Race packet pickup details will be announced closer to the event.
Multiple participation options are offered including an in person 5K, a Breast Cancer Warrior 5K category for survivors and current warriors, a virtual 5K, and youth options for children aged five and under. Pricing information includes early bird and later registration tiers for the 5K and virtual run, a free youth option without shirt or medal and a youth add on for shirt and medal for a fee. Employees of OMH and their families are eligible for a discounted rate with a discount code.
New this year, participants may donate to receive a bandana for a dog for a $5 donation; all dogs must remain on a leash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
