Event overview
The Miles for Mammos 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 17, 2026, in Jacksonville, North Carolina at the Jacksonville Commons (100 Recreation Lane, 28546). The event is a bonus race in the JOSC race series. Proceeds benefit Julie's Pink Warrior Project, which provides free screening mammograms for uninsured and underinsured people in Onslow County. The course is described as flat and stroller friendly. A water station is located around the halfway point. Finishers receive a medal and post-race snacks are provided. Early bird pricing for the in-person 5K and virtual 5K is listed at $25 until January 1, 2026, with higher rates later in the registration period. The kids shirt and medal option is listed at $10; a free entry option is listed for kids 5 and under without shirt or medal. OMH employees and family members are eligible for a discounted rate using a discount code. New for this year, participants may donate $5 for a bandana for a dog; all dogs must remain on a leash.
