Mile Madness Endurance Run
Mile Madness is a multi-day looped trail event held at Regional Park in Auburn, California. The course is a professionally measured 1 mile loop that follows a mainly paved bike path and passes a pond, shaded paths, and grassy areas. The compact loop provides frequent access to aid and crew areas and space for resting between laps.
The event program includes eight timed events: 72 hour run and 72 hour team relay, 48 hour run and 48 hour team relay, 100 mile race, 24 hour run, 12 hour run, and a 6 hour glow run. Relay teams may include four to ten runners; teams share a single team bib and podium awards are given to the top three teams. Relay runners are not eligible for the 100 mile buckle.
On-course support includes a fully stocked aid station with a rotating menu, cooked-to-order items such as quesadillas and soup, a separate water only station under a canopy roughly halfway through the loop, and dinner meal options. Event amenities noted in previous editions include on-site massage therapists, food trucks, a 20 by 30 foot family cheer zone with shade and activities, and an Ultra Lounge area with a larger tent for crew activities.
Finishers can earn event buckles at several mileage thresholds including a Silver 100 mile buckle, Gold 150 mile buckle, and a new 200 mile buckle. The event supports the Run Free Foundation, which provides gear and race scholarships to runners facing financial barriers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
