About the race
The 53rd Annual Milan Melon Festival Road Race takes place in Milan, Ohio (140 S Main St) on 09/07/2026. The event program includes a chip-timed 5K and a 1 Mile fun run on a USATF-certified course.

Race operations note packet pick up at Edison Elementary from 7:30 am to 8:45 am on race day. Results are chip timed for quick and accurate reporting. A collectible race shirt is available for the first 300 entrants. Registration opens in late June and closes on race day; published entry fees are $20 for 5K divisions and $15 for the 1 Mile fun run.
Competition structure includes multiple age-group divisions for men and women and special weight divisions for the 5K: the Watermelon Division for men 210 pounds and over, and the Cantaloupe Division for women 160 pounds and over. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and to age-group placers. For 2026 there is an added age-graded male and female champion recognition.
The 1 Mile fun run is open to all ages and participants receive a race shirt while supplies last. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
