Coast to Coaster Road Race
The Coast to Coaster Road Race is a long journey run in the Sandusky, OH area covering approximately 232 miles on public roads. The event is organized as an uncrewed journey run; participants receive GPS trackers and are given a link to share their location with others. Past editions have included a stop for a tour of the Ohio State Reformatory.
Participants should expect no routine assistance from race staff and are responsible for their own well-being on course. There are stores, restaurants, and hotels along the route, and runners must plan when to rest and where to resupply. Crews are allowed and may carry supplies; crewed runners may shelter in a crew vehicle, but runners may not be transported by any vehicle.
The event emphasizes safety and respectful conduct toward other participants and local communities. Rules state that anyone whose behavior endangers themselves or others will be removed from the course, and runners must stay on the marked route or return to it if they make an error. More detailed information and logistical options are provided by the organizer for those who require transportation and hotel arrangements prior to the event.
