Event overview
Coast to Coaster is a road race held in Sandusky, Ohio, on April 23, 2026. The course is a long-distance journey run of roughly 230–232 miles. The event is run on public roads and is presented in a journey format similar in spirit to other long-distance road journeys. All participants are provided with trackers and receive a link to share their location.
Format, logistics and rules
This is an unassisted, self-supported-style event where participants are responsible for their own well-being. There are stores, restaurants and hotels along the route, and runners must plan sleep and resupply stops. Crews are allowed; crews may carry supplies and crewed runners may shelter in a crew vehicle, but runners cannot be transported by any vehicle. Safety is emphasized and any participant judged to be behaving in a way that endangers themselves or others may be removed from the course. Participants must stay on the course and correct any route errors by returning to the point where they left the course.
If a participant signs up as needing a ride and hotel, they may leave their vehicle at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio the day before and be transported to a hotel near the start. Registration closes on April 22 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
