Coast to Coaster Road Race
Coast to Coaster is a 232 mile road race scheduled for April 23, 2026. The event is presented as a journey run on public roads in the spirit of HOTS and LAVS. The route includes towns with stores, restaurants and hotels, and participants must plan when to rest and when to resupply.
Runners are responsible for their own well being and should not expect assistance from race staff. All participants are provided with trackers and receive a link to share location updates with friends and family. Crews are allowed to carry supplies and crewed runners may shelter in a crew vehicle, but runners may not be transported by any vehicle.
If a participant registers as needing a ride and hotel, they will leave their vehicle at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio the day before the race and be transported to a hotel near the start in Sandusky. In prior years the event has included a stop for a tour of Ohio State Reformatory; the organizers may include a similar visit or another stop of comparable nature.
Safety and respect are emphasized in the rules. Participants who behave in ways that endanger themselves or others may be removed from the course, and all runners are asked to treat other participants and local residents with respect. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
