Format, logistics and rules

This is an unassisted, self-supported-style event where participants are responsible for their own well-being. There are stores, restaurants and hotels along the route, and runners must plan sleep and resupply stops. Crews are allowed; crews may carry supplies and crewed runners may shelter in a crew vehicle, but runners cannot be transported by any vehicle. Safety is emphasized and any participant judged to be behaving in a way that endangers themselves or others may be removed from the course. Participants must stay on the course and correct any route errors by returning to the point where they left the course.
