Coast To Coaster Road Race
Coast to Coaster is a 232 mile road race that begins in Sandusky, Ohio, at 701 East Water Street. The event is described as a journey run in the spirit of HOTS or LAVS and takes place on public roads. All participants are provided with trackers and receive a link to share real time location with family and friends.
This event is self managed. Runners are responsible for their own well being while on course. There are stores, restaurants, and hotels along the route; participants must plan when to rest and when to resupply. Race staff do not provide routine support, and runners should expect to manage food, sleep, and navigation as needed.
Crews are allowed and may carry supplies for participants. Crewed runners may shelter in their crew vehicle, but runners may not be transported by any vehicle. An option is described for entrants who request a ride and hotel; those participants leave their vehicle at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio the day before and are transported to a hotel near the start in Sandusky.
Safety and respect are emphasized in the rules. Dangerous behavior can result in removal from the course. Past editions have included a stop at the Ohio State Reformatory or a similar visit along the route. Registration closes on Wed, Apr 22 at 11:59 PM ET.
