Coast to Coaster Road Race : April 22, 2027
Coast to Coaster is a point to point road journey of about 232 miles in Ohio, listed as starting near Sandusky. The event is presented as a journey run on public roads. Runners are responsible for their own well being while on course; stores, restaurants and hotels are available along the route and participants must plan when to rest and resupply.
All runners are provided with trackers and receive a shareable link to show their location. Participants who request transportation and hotel arrangements leave their vehicle at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio the day before the race and are transported to a hotel near the start in Sandusky. Past editions have included an optional stop at the Ohio State Reformatory or a similar visit.
Crews are permitted to carry supplies and may shelter participants in a crew vehicle, but runners may not be transported by any vehicle. Safety and respect are emphasized; organizers state that anyone whose behavior endangers themselves or others will be removed from the course and that participants should act as positive representatives toward locals and other runners.
Organizers describe the event as a warmup for other long road events such as HOTS or Vol State. Registration closes April 18 at 11:59 PM ET. More detailed instructions and rules are provided to entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
