Humane Society of Erie County 5K Run/Walk
The Humane Society of Erie County 5K Run/Walk, also known as "Run, Walk, Brew, Rescue," takes place in Sandusky, Ohio. This event serves as the first race of the #RUNDUSKY Race Series for 2026. The road course is located in the downtown area, with the route originating at the Bait House Brewery and the Battery Park parking lot situated north of the city building.
Participants can complete the 5K distance by either running or walking. The race utilizes chip timing to provide accurate results for all entrants. The finish line remains operational for one hour following the start. Registration fees support the Humane Society of Erie County, and participants who register by the specified deadline in late March receive an event t-shirt.
Pet owners are permitted to participate with their dogs, provided the animals are well-behaved and kept on a short leash. Event-branded dog bandanas are available for purchase during the registration process. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions, and no refunds are issued.
Additional activities are held at the Bait House Brewery throughout the event, including raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
