Mighty Mountain Run - 5k 10K
The Mighty Mountain Run is a trail run and walk fundraiser held at Camp Caraway in Sophia, North Carolina. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Online registration closes on Friday, May 9 at 12pm. In-person registration is available on race day between 7 AM and 8 AM. Proceeds support camper scholarships at Caraway Conference Center and Camps and may be used for retreats and a range of camp programs.
Courses run on Camp Caraway property in the Northern Uwharrie Mountains. The route for the 5K follows well maintained trails and roads through hardwood forest near creeks and lakes, with rolling hills and an overall climb of more than 400 feet at Longarm Ridge. The 10K includes two ridge sections, Longarm Ridge and Orchard Mountain, and gains about 350 feet of elevation in the first 1.5 miles. Surfaces include gravel road, asphalt, single track dirt and rocky trail, and sections along an 80 foot rock face.
Event services listed by the organizer include professional chip timing, trophies for top finishers, medals for all participants, age group awards, free snacks at the finish, giveaways, and a free race t shirt for those registered by April 1.
