Event overview
The Mighty Mountain Run - 5k 10K takes place on May 9, 2026 in Sophia, North Carolina (4756 Caraway Mountain Rd, 27350). It is a trail run/walk fundraiser for camper scholarships at Caraway Conference Center and Camps. The event offers the following distances:

Online registration closes Friday, May 9 at 12:00pm. In-person registration is available on race day between 7:00am and 8:00am. All participants receive medals; trophies and age-group awards are given to top finishers. The event uses professional chip timing. A free race t-shirt is provided to those who register by April 1. Free snacks and other giveaways are provided at the finish.
Course and specifics
Both courses are on Camp Caraway property in the Northern Uwharrie Mountains. Surfaces include rolling trails, some gravel, some asphalt, and single-track dirt/rocky sections through hardwood forest near creeks and a lake. The 5K goes over Longarm Ridge and follows a route similar to a prior edition. The 10K includes two climbs - Longarm Ridge and Orchard Mountain - with about 350 ft of elevation gain in the first 1.5 miles and sections along an 80 ft rock face. Strict walking of the entire 10K course is strongly discouraged; mixed running and walking is permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
