Event

Ultrapalooza takes place September 26-27, 2026 in Osawatomie, Kansas. The event is part of the Kansas Super Slam of Ultrarunning Series and offers multiple race distances that start and finish at the Mile 0 Flint Hills trail head in Osawatomie.

Course and support

The course is an out-and-back on the Flint Hills Trail, using single track, old railroad beds and towpath sections. The surface is described as flat, crushed gravel. The route crosses the Flint Hills and travels along eastern sections near the Marais Des Cygnes River, prairie, riparian woodlands and farmland. Aid stations include both manned and unmanned stations; manned stations are stocked with water, electrolyte drink, snack foods, sandwiches, gels and other supplies. Aid stations are spaced no more than 6.0 miles apart. Drop bags are allowed at manned aid stations with specific labeling and size limits.

Logistics and rules

Packet pickup is available on the days before and during the event. All entrants must submit a completed medical information sheet at packet pickup. Time limits apply: 30 hours for the 100 Miler and 100K, 30 hours for the 50 Miler, 12 hours for the 50K and Marathon, and 6 hours for the Half Marathon. Pacers are allowed for the 100 Miler, 100K and 50 Miler with distance and conduct restrictions. The event has a no-refund, no-transfer policy; deferrals to the same race the following year are permitted with advance notice. Standard trail rules and local conservancy regulations apply.
