Midsummer 8K - Kelowna
The Midsummer 8K takes place on July 12, 2026 at Boyce-Gyro Park, 3400 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, along the shoreline of Lake Okanagan. The main event is a certified, flat 8 km course with an official measurement.
Chip timing is used for results. Cash prizes are offered for the top three male and female finishers, and awards are given to the top three runners in each age group. All finishers receive a medal. Post race refreshments are available.
Aid stations are positioned at approximately 2.5 km and 5.5 km on the course. The event is the penultimate race of the 2026 Interior Running Association Road Race Series.
A free kids fun run, organized by UBCO Cross Country volunteers, follows the main race. Two children's distances are offered: a short loop of about 200 m and a longer loop of about 700 m. Registration for the main race is open until July 11, 2026, with an early bird discount available until April 12.
A prize draw for participants includes items such as a pair of running shoes, gift cards, and a free entry to another race. Some draw prizes require winners to be present at the awards presentation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
